Early 90s sounding twinkly emo with warbly guitars and vocals, in the vein of the emo revolution/revival stuff that's been happening. If you enjoy bands like American Football, Mineral, and Sunny Day Real Estate, this is really going to tickle your fancy.

Happy Hollows
I first became aware of Happy Hollows in 2007 when they were the Los Angeles support for Why? and I immediately noted them as a band to watch with their raucous, noise pop and exciting live performance. I picked up two of their EPs: SELF-TITLED from 2007 and BUNNIES & BOMBS from 2006. Since then, Happy Hollows have been cutting their teeth as featured support for bands as different as Deerhoof and Silversun Pickups and in 2008 they added a third EP IMAGINARY. These three EPs should be an excellent primer for their upcoming self-released debut LP, currently scheduled for September 2009. The most notable tracks here are the insanely catchy "Monster Room," "Vietnam," and "Tambourine" in which lead-singer Sarah Negahdari sings about romantic woes with a young Republican who looks like Billy Corgan.
The Three EPs (Bunnies & Bombs, Happy Hollows, Imaginary EP) are available below. Please support the artist if you enjoy them.

AUS but not australia

i knew i liked this as soon as the first song started
felt like i was on the beach
the rest of the songs don't really sound like that so far
but i still like it, makes me wiggle around in a good way
last.fm labels them as:
ambient, idm, electronica, japanese, electronic
not usually my thing but i am really enjoying it,
so maybe it is my thing and i didn't know it yet?
i see myself using some of this for choreography in the near future

Little Walter
Delta Blues. The Jimi Hendrix of the harmonica. Lived life hard as fuck, and died at the age of 37. There is a lot of cool shit to know about this guy if you feel like looking into it.
Do you want to know why I play harmonica? Listen to the man who revolutionized the way I listen to and create music. kthx

Castanets - Cathedral

Basically, why the fuck don't you have this? Uh, describe. My all-time favorite album. Taken from last.fm: The music has been described as gothic country, avant-garde indie, psychedelic neo-folk, and a slew of other labels. Fundamentally, the music of Castanets is built on the clash between traditional music styles (folk, country) and modern intuition (avant-garde, psychedelia).
Seriously, my favorite album of all time. FUCKING GARABE IT!

Gotye - Like Drawing Blood (2007)
Australia trip-hop. May not sound like much, but what if i were to tell you this is what would have happened if Beth Gibbons was a dude?...influences so varied, i'd insult you all by trying to list them. Great album full stop, but an absolute joy if you're chemically influenced, or to hell with it...ALWAYS.
Treat Yourself...
